FACILITIES ASSISTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION
Major Responsibilities
The Facilities Assistant will work with the Facilities Manager to oversee the management and operations of all the physical properties of the church including the church campus, education building, and parsonage. The Facilities Assistant will provide hands-on responsibility for maintenance of the buildings, grounds, equipment, building systems, and housekeeping, ensuring the facilities are fully operational, safe, clean and neat, and prepared for services, rentals, and ministry activities. The Facilities Assistant will work under the guidance of the Facilities Manager and Senior Pastor to fulfill and carry out daily, weekly, and annual maintenance and long-term property projects.
Qualifications/Responsibilities:
· Daily check of mechanical operation and security of the entire church facility
· Complete daily walk through of facilities
· Work with the Facilities Manager to address and prioritize projects
· Manage church set up and tear down for scheduled programs and ministries in accordance with the church calendar.
· Develop and implement a weekly cleaning schedule for all buildings, including but not limited to: emptying garbage and recycling, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, washing windows, discarding of furniture or equipment that is no longer needed, etc.
· Review pending work orders, complete in a timely fashion, or report when they might be complete to Senior Pastor, Staff, and Property Committee
· Landscaping and snow/ice removal
· Other duties as assigned.

· Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, bending, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and handling of materials and equipment.
· Ability to lift/carry, up to approximately 50 pounds frequently, and occasional lifting/carrying of equipment may be required
· Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more)
Administrative Duties
· Attend Property Committee meetings (held quarterly) and staff meetings (held monthly).
· Apply a working and growing knowledge of all projects.
· Organization and record keeping a must.
Hours and Compensation:
Average 15 Hours per Week
Individual must be available for emergencies
Compensation: $20/per hour
The Church will be closed for the following Public Holidays:
- New Years Day
- Dr. Martin Luther King’s Birthday
- Easter Monday
- Memorial Day
- Juneteenth
- July 4th
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Thanksgiving Friday
- Christmas Day
