Komar, a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of apparel with a diverse portfolio of owned and licensed brands, is seeking a Facilities Assistant for our corporate office located in Jersey City, NJ.
Position Summary: The Facilities & Mailroom Assistant is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the corporate headquarters by managing both facilities and mailroom tasks. This role involves a variety of duties related to maintenance, mail handling, and administrative support to ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilities Support:
- Assist in routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance work.
- Monitor and report on the condition of facilities, equipment, and furnishings.
- Manage the setup and rearrangement of office spaces, including furniture and equipment.
- Assist in the coordination of office moves and space planning.
Mailroom Management:
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages.
- Maintain mailroom supplies and equipment.
- Track and manage mailroom inventory and ordering of supplies.
Customer Service:
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding facilities and mailroom-related inquiries and issues.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure prompt resolution of facilities and mailroom-related problems.
- Handle incoming service requests and coordinate responses in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in facilities management, mailroom operations, or a related field is preferred
- Skills:Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for extended periods, and perform manual labor tasks.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
