FACILITIES ASSISTANT – Part-time(20 hours weekly)

Home Moravian Church

General Statement of Duties:

Our Maintenance Staff provides general maintenance, repair, janitorial, custodial, and security services for all buildings and grounds of Home Moravian Church including the Bishop’s House, the parsonage.

Reports to:

The Facilities Manager

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Gives needed attention to daily facilities upkeep.
• Provides assistance to the Facilities Manager in matters physically requiring two persons to complete tasks.
• Provides for designated grounds upkeep and maintenance (i.e., mowing, etc.)
• Works with the Facilities Manager as needed on room set-ups and break downs for church events.
• Regular building upkeep and repairs (i.e., painting, etc.)
• Provides daily/evening facilities presence for security and monitoring of the physical plant.
• Works designated weekend shifts for facilities maintenance rotation and presence.
• Any other tasks deemed necessary by the Facilities Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:

This position requires an individual who has general building maintenance, and the ability to work effectively with the Facilities Manager and the Home Church staff team.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting – usually up to 50 lbs.
• Walking/Standing up to 80 % of the workday.
• Bending – as needed on the job.

Routine Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Performs daily/weekly/monthly custodial duties Trash removal
• Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms
• Moves and arranges chairs and tables as needed for events
• Incidental cleaning as needed
• Performs routine maintenance tasks related to building operating systems, i.e., changing filters, light bulbs, etc.
• Daily winding of our steeple clock.
• Rings bell of Sunday mornings

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 22 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Custodians: 2 years (Preferred)

Shift availability:

• Day Shift (Preferred)
• Night Shift (Preferred)
