Fabricator/Welder Foreman

We are a General Contractor company specializing in electrical and process equipment build.

Job duties, but not limited to:

• Prioritizing and reporting to the project manager are two of your main responsibilities as a welding foreman
• Coordinates a team that fabricates materials such as structural steel.
• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Your duties are far more than those of a welder since you must guarantee safety on the job, monitor the crew, and coordinate tasks to get the job done on time.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as pipe welder with stainless tig.
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Deftness and attention to detail
• Proficient in English
• Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus
• Must have experience welding pipe 6G certification preferred
• Working knowledge and experience in SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW.
• Previous heavy structural steel, bridge, and tank work.
• Set up equipment including leads, suitcases, and weld machines.
• Troubleshoot weld machines.
• Follow D1.1 and D1.5 code work.
• Understand and use weld gauges.

Education and experience

· 5 years of relevant experience in welding and assembly of industrial equipment and piping systems (Required)

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
