This position is a full-time position as a F-35 Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the US Air Force at RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom. Position will provide F-35 Subject Matter Expert training, academic training, and oversee flight procedures in the Pilot Training Devices executing to the approved pilot training syllabus. The successful candidate will provide training using the Full Mission Simulators (FMS) and other PTD's. The successful candidate will operate Instructor Operating Stations (IOS) and will be a SME for all pilot training courseware updates. This candidate will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin training team at RAF Lakenheath, UK to fulfill F-35 training objectives. The successful candidate will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies as directed. This candidate may also be requested to augment training objectives and operations at other F-35 operational/training sites as needed.
Basic Qualifications
-Candidate must have in-depth knowledge of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft systems, operational experience with advanced sensor systems such as Night Vision devices, EO/IR targeting systems, Helmet Mounted Cuing, and the latest air-to-surface and air-to-air weapons inventory.
-Candidate must have prior experience in delivering military pilot academics and simulator training and be familiar with current instructional techniques and delivery methods.
-Candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature.
-Use of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is required.
-Candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid ability to organize, and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction.
Desired skills
- Overseas assignment or expatriate experience
- RAF Lakenheath, USAFE, NATO, or EUCOM experience
- Current or demonstrated experience as an USAF/USN/USMC IP with multi-role fighter experience.
- Fifth generation Full Mission Simulator (FMS) experience as an operator and/or instructor.
- F-35 flight experience is highly desired.
- Candidate should have a minimum of 1000 hours Fighter Flight Time in fourth and/or fifth generation multi-role fighter aircraft.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Colorado Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $105,000 - $201,100. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
