The Work


As an E&T Solution Architect, you will:
  • Support engineering, program management, business development and program teams
  • Lead product level architecture development activities aligned to contract cost and schedule constraints
  • Drive model-based and engineering principles
  • Ensure the logical and detailed conversion of customer needs into total systems solutions
  • Guarantee that the requirements baseline is fully documented, traced, and is maintained.
  • Confirm all requirements are adequately validated through the architecture.

You have a background in technical architecture with cloud based and virtualized frameworks.

A level 5 employee is typically a Subject Matter Expert and has 12 to 14+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14+ years of professional experience
  • Experienced technical architect with knowledge of virtualize (cloud-based) architectural frameworks
  • Experience with product level software Intensive systems and/or large-scale software/system integration activities

Desired Skills:


  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate very sophisticated problems and implement constructive change
  • Strong System development background
  • F-35 Domain knowledge
  • Practical knowledge of SysML, UML, and/or DoDAF frameworks
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication at all levels of organizational structure
  • Experience with transition of designs through product deployment for the defense market is desirable
  • Experience in defining the architecture and design for large IT systems in classified environments
  • Experience in Rhapsody modeling tool

Ability to Work Remotely:

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
