Typical schedule will provide coverage for assigned hours on days shown below. Incumbents will not work all listed hours. Scheduled hours are based upon rental requests and confirmed with Front Desk Attendant by scheduling supervisor.
- Monday to Thursday: between the hours of 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- Friday nights between the hours of 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- Some Saturdays between the hours of 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- Some Sundays between the hours of 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM
Scope of Work
To perform Front Desk reception duties at the Spartan Recreation Center. In addition to working at the Front Desk, staff will be required to work facility rentals at the Spartan Recreation Center and the Richmond Highlands Center outside of operation hours including weekends: Friday, Saturday & Sunday.Typical facility rentals include, but are not limited to, birthday parties and other celebrations, basketball practices, and religious services.
- Provide customer service to facility patrons, in person or on the phone.
- Work with registration software to create new accounts.
- Answer telephone, take registrations, handle cash, point of sale.
- Process department liability forms, scholarship requests and other paperwork as needed.
- Interact with diverse populations of all ages in a friendly and supportive manner.
- Issue monthly passes and punch cards.
- Assist program instructors, provide administrative support for recreation programs.
- Closely monitor the use of the facility, maintain facility safety procedures, report injuries and safety hazards.
- Respond to medical emergencies and incidents.
- Open and close the facility.
- Set up and take down program equipment.
- Ensure that all participants sign in and pay the required admission fees.
- Monitor the program, participants and equipment for safety, cleanliness and conflict resolution.
- Interact with diverse populations of all ages in a friendly and supportive manner.
- Monitor center, rooms, spaces during private rentals.
- Participate and work effectively in an organization committed to advancing principles and practices of equity and anti-racism.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is required, on-site training will be provided for those who are not currently certified
- Minimum of one year of Front Desk or office experience
- High school graduation or GDE
- Prior cash handling experience
- Prior customer service experience
- Prior experience working in a high-volume environment
- Ability to interact with diverse populations of all ages in a friendly and supportive manner.
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to keep calm and handle emergency situations
- Strong oral communication skills with an enthusiastic and friendly personality
- Skills in use of Word and Excel and office equipment
Environmental Conditions
Work is performed in reception environment in a recreational facility with constant interaction with public. This position demands extensive focus on digital screens.Physical Conditions
Sitting for prolonged periods of time, frequent walking and standing. Moderate lifting and bending.Employment Type: Extra Help Ongoing (less than 20 hours per week)
