The Senior Aviation Mechanic is part of the aviation maintenance team which is comprised of 8 employees all managed by the Manager Aviation Maintenance. The Sr Aviation Mechanic will be guided on a daily tasks by the Sr. Aircraft Maintenance Lead Technician for aircraft maintenance and work scheduling. The Sr. Aviation mechanic will participate and contribute to maintaining the company owned aircraft in an airworthy condition as defined by the FAA, the OEM and company policies. Will be involved with fueling and towing of aircraft, arrivals, and departures, assisting passengers and fellow crew members as required. May be assigned to a company aircraft in a crew chief role. Participate in the tool control program to account for all tools before starting work and when work is complete. Safe work practices must be followed and always demonstrated while contributing to the SMS culture.  

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Must adhere to all Aircraft Maintenance Manual procedures and inspection criteria, aircraft safety, airworthiness directives, personnel safety and the use of proper PPE as required.
  • Ensures all work meets FAA regulations and company guidelines.
  • Possesses skills and knowledge required to evaluate & perform diagnosis, isolation & repairs of discrepancies for all aircraft systems including electronic flight controls, hydraulics, landing gear, fuel systems, engines & auxiliary power unit.
  • Perform scheduled inspections & component removal & replacement with no supervision.
  • Proficient with installing, inspecting, testing, diagnosing, adjusting, and replacing avionics equipment. Perform aircraft systems diagnostics using a laptop or specialized test equipment, which interfaces with aircraft engines, electronic systems and the advanced cabin management and communications systems as required with little to no supervision.
  • Perform pre-flight, post-flight, fueling, defueling, towing operations, participate with arrivals and departures as part of ground crew to include passenger escort, baggage handling, and onsite technical support for aircrew on an as needed basis.
  • Responsible for Computerized Maintenance Program (CMP) for accuracy and completeness after any maintenance has been performed by the technician, participate and be responsible for aircraft release statements in compliance with company policy.
  • Assist as an inspector and approve work completed by other MX team members as required per company policy as well as any 3rd party approved vendors who have performed work on any of the aircraft.
  • Computes and maintains weight and balance data for an aircraft when required.
  • Participate & comply with all corporate compliance training & attend OEM aviation technical training as required to maintain proficiency on the aircraft and all systems to include avionics.
  • Stay current with the FAA IA license through training.
  • Comply with all assigned collateral duties as assigned by the Manager Aviation Maintenance, and assist others as require. Will be required to obtain Engine Run and taxi from Flight Safety International.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduate with diploma/GED.
  • 5 plus years FAA A&P license without violation.
  • 5 plus years overall large cabin Gulfstream experience.
  • 5 plus years’ experience using Gulfstream CMP or similar maintenance tracking program.
  • Excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and the ability to integrate into a professional team environment.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and U.S. passport.
  • Computer and iPad – Proficient with MS Windows & Apple iOS.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications including teams video chat.
  • Working at heights using fall protection when required.
  • Operating a forklift, JLG boom lift, scissor lift, Lektro tug, TowFlex tug, hydraulic power carts, electrical power carts and associated aviation support equipment as required after company training.
  • To be flexible with work shifts as determined by company flight schedule, to include nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
  • Aprox 20% travel is required for training, aircraft service visits and other business functions and aircraft support efforts (AOG) as necessary.
  • Pass a physical fitness exam requiring the lifting of weights up to 75lbs.
  • Pass drug screen and background checks, both with the company and the local airport authority for badging (FAA/TSA level).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Inspection Authorization – It will be required after the first year and paid for by company.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree.
  • Gulfstream G650 experience.
  • Gulfstream Master Technician from Flight Safety International.
  • Avionics background.
  • Corporate Aviation Experience.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.

  • The compensation and reference to benefits for this role is listed on this posting in compliance with applicable law. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on his or her skills, experience, and qualifications. Please note that the compensation and benefits listed below are only applicable to successful candidates who are hired onto local United States payroll.
  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $195,000 - $206,000. This is an hourly position with eligibility for overtime pay. Chevron offers competitive compensation and benefits programs which includes, but is not limited to, variable pay, health care coverage, retirement plan, protection coverage, time off and leave programs, training and development opportunities and a range of allowances connected to specific work situations.
