- An Accessory Shop Mechanic is responsible for performing high quality maintenance of aircraft turbine engines. This Accessory Shop Mechanic II a few years' experience in overhaul and calibration of hydro-mechanical and pneumatic turbine engine accessories. As an Aviation Mechanic for these accessories, the key duties are to be proficient with all aspects of accessory repair and overhaul involving:
- Assembly and disassembly.
- Inspection; Repair.
- Subassembly testing and calibration.
- Test bench set-up and operation.
- Effective and accurate use of tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot/practical problem-solving skills.
- Has knowledge that allows him to train Accessory Shop Mechanic I employees.
- Requires minimal supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to interpret technical data and drawings.
- Push/pull items which could weigh up to 50lbs.
- Read/write English.
- Require safe, organized, and clean work areas.
- A&P or equivalent experience through a combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years of practical experience with overhaul and repair of turbine engines.
- J-85 engine a plus.
- Proficient with the English language to interpret and follow various technical data.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED.
