Located in beautiful San Luis Obispo, SunWest Aviation is a Flight School and executive air charter specialist.

FLIGHT SCHOOL
Our Flight School boasts a fleet of eight aircraft, and currently keeps four to six instructors on staff in addition to our office staff. SunWest Aviation Flight School is open 9am-5pm, 7 days a week. These are the hours our office is staffed; flights may occur at any time of any day given they are booked properly in advance. Aircraft maintenance does not need to occur during this time either, so maintenance hours are flexible.

YOUR ROLE
You will work independently to run our shop: performing inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance on piston flight training aircraft and privately owned airplanes. The successful candidate will possess the appropriate personality to multi-task and run the shop, while maintaining a constant focus on safety and quality. Technicians will need to adhere to the maintenance and manufacturer manuals, and make safety-focused decisions on a day to day basis.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform efficient troubleshooting, aircraft maintenance, and repair in accordance with applicable regulations, manufacturer's instructions
  • Ensure consistent, accurate aircraft maintenance records by properly documenting & completing required forms, computer entries, and logbook entries
  • Follow all policies and procedures
  • Keep a clean and orderly work environment
  • Perform job duties in a safe manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Please- Current US Resident Applicants Only
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required, IA is a plus
  • 3 or more years of piston-powered aircraft maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of FARs and manufacturer manuals
  • PPL: Private Pilot's License not required, but is a plus
  • Avionics troubleshooting experience
