Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as contracts, briefs, and pleadings
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Manage and organize documents using document management systems
- Perform data entry tasks to input and update case information
- Transcribe dictations and prepare accurate written records
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- File legal documents with courts and government agencies
- Maintain organized and up-to-date physical and electronic files
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and provide information to clients
- Provide administrative support such as scheduling appointments and managing calendars
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a paralegal in the field of personal injury or in a similar role preferred
- Proficient in using document management systems and other legal software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and court filing requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
