Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a plan for proactive outreach for key groups of potential investors. Help manage and grow existing Investor Relationships. Contribute to developing the company's plan to increase shareholder value over time. Serve as the key day-to-day contact for internal clients, including CFO, COO, CEO, and other senior leaders. Interact directly with shareholders and covering sell-side analysts to discuss client business attributes, collect feedback, and support bank-sponsored non-deal road shows, and react to investment community informational needs. Monitor sell-side valuation model and counsel internal clients on effectively setting expectations around future performance.
  • Represent the company while interfacing directly with sell-side analysts and investors during calls, meetings, presentations, conferences, etc. to ensure the appropriate interpretation of the company's financial information and strategic direction. Provide investor communications and information through various means, such as briefings, press conferences, company websites, and annual reports. Oversee and lead quarterly earnings process for public and SEC filings. Prepare remarks for CEO, COO, and CFO as lead scriptwriter for quarterly earnings calls and investor conferences, along with preparing other company financial guidance for investors and analysts. Oversee and lead efforts to create materials for investor-related events, including investor days, presentations, video webcasts, conference calls, roadshows, conferences, property visits, and other industry events. Lead communication strategy for CEO, COO, and CFO at investor conferences, non-deal roadshows, and other investor events.
  • Work closely with our Finance, Product, Marketing, and Legal teams, etc. to build an understanding of MSA's business and assist in the development of communication strategy and materials. Help develop the key messages for communication to existing and potential shareholders. Understand financial statements and performance; Contribute to setting of quarterly revenue and profit guidance. Ensure team is proactive and highly responsive to client needs, anticipating upcoming deliverables and taking accountability for proper execution.
  • Set direction and lead the prioritization and organization of conferences and analyst sessions for IR/management to participate in or host. Monitor and analyze financial and industry trends, competitive intelligence, market insights, and shareholder activity. Partner with senior leaders in new business preparation and drive new business activity with a focus on winning and serving new accounts.
  • Be an active leader in supporting corporate strategy development and participate as needed in all growth opportunities. This position will spend significant time working on IR strategy development, depending on where we are in the cycle. This position will help set the strategy for the future and then help make it a reality through organic and inorganic growth.
  • Own the IR strategy. This includes not only developing the strategy but working cross-functionally to implement the model and associated systems to support the shareholders and the business. Provide feedback for continuous improvement of the IR program.

Qualifications
Experience Required:
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in Investor Relations and/or working with public market investors in another capacity, such as sell-side/buy-side research or in an equity capital markets group at an investment bank. Investor relations or capital markets experience a must for consideration.
  • Strong comfort level counseling senior executives of publicly traded companies on IR related and financial communications matters.
  • Must work cross-functionally and effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
  • Outstanding interpersonal and verbal skills, with a strong ability to communicate with executive-level leaders across the organization.
  • Exemplary communications, organizational, strategy development and high-level project management skills.
  • Strong writing skills, including experience writing financially oriented news releases and presentations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial data sets and understand businesses across multiple industries.
  • Proven critical thinking and strategic development skills.
  • Credibility with the investment community, top shareholders and the sell-side community.
  • Existing, high-level relationships with major investor groups in the US. Similar relationships with major investor groups abroad would be a plus.
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-cultured, team environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated; anticipate upcoming client projects and deliverables.
  • High degree of financial literacy.
  • Understanding of MSA's business and/or an ability to quickly learn this industry.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Education Required:
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or a relevant business degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience Preferred:
  • Must have direct experience with sell-side research coverage for a minimum of 10 years. Additional experience within the finance function with FP&A, GAAP, and Treasury would be a significant advantage.

Education Preferred:
  • MBA or a similar graduate degree.
  • CFA.
