Job Description
Purpose of Executive Director for Missional Community: To strengthen and coach a Missional Community network of leaders and missional communities toward fulfilling the mission of missional communities and create intentional and hospitable connections for people to exploring a Gospel Inspired Life with Faith Community Church.
Reports to Senior Pastor
To ensure that MC’s are fulfilling their mission, the Executive Director will have a passion for nurturing and cultivating missional communities, and Missional Community relationships, toward being a place where Christ-centered community is experienced and all are welcome to authentically discover and live a Gospel Inspired Life.
Recruit and train 60%
· Recruit and equip qualified MC leaders to lead and develop multiplying missional communities that align with our Missional Community practices and rhythms.
· Recruit and work along with a team of MC coaches to disciple and develop MC leaders and ensure the health and vitality of MC’s
· In collaboration with Coaching Team, visit MC gatherings, for relationship, development, encouragement, and ensuring health of MC network.
· Develop and train key MC’s as teaching laboratories for new leaders to ‘catch’ the mission of MC’s and how to lead.
· Pilot online Missional Community opportunity.
· Develop and maintain budget for MC leader conference and training materials.
· Serve as a champion for Missional communities and their primary purposes.
Discover, Develop and Maintain MC Training Processes and Systems 20%
· Building on MC tools (eg., SOAP, Fruit to Root) and in collaboration with Senior pastor, refine, develop, and discover new training tools for equipping leaders in community dynamics, living a Gospel Inspired Life, and evangelism employing video, podcasts, print media.
· Manage the library of training resources for MC leadership.
· Provide assessments and reports tracking MC engagement and health.
· In collaboration with Senior pastor, host regular MC Leadership Conferences.
Collaborate and Influence Significant Leadership Initiatives 20%
· Develop and maintain an annual plan that ensures continuous improvement and growth of Missional Communities.
· Collaborate with Diaconate Team in the development and implementation of a diaconate for FCC with a unique connection and service within MC’s.
· Work with Campus Pastor to create events and systems helping people exploring FCC and a Gospel Inspired Life.
· Collaborate with Counseling Pastor in establishing a culture of care by infusing missional communities with effective approaches for “one-anothering” and care.
Qualifications
· A personal and vital relationship with Jesus.
· Must meet the qualifications and virtues of a deacon/ness as outlined in 1 Timothy.
· A four-year college degree or working equivalent.
· Theological harmony with Faith Community’s Statement of Faith and Theological Statements.
· Demonstrated experience with relational leadership within a broad network.
· 3-5 years of experience as a small group leader.
· 3-5 years of experience as a small group leader trainer or equivalent.
· Demonstrated success launching/leading a network of small groups.
· Experience with teaching in front of large groups.
· Relationally aware and effective.
