Reporting to the Research and Development Sciences (RaDS) Value Team lead within Research and Development (R&D) IT, the Development Sciences & Clinical Supply (DSCS) Business Technology Partner willlead the teamresponsible for deeply understanding business strategy and the future state data and technology ecosystem necessary to realize that strategy. This role will be a strategic partner with DSCS to digitally transform our DSCS organization, defining future state processes needed to streamline for efficiency and create agility to meet theevolving needs of our portfolio, and opportunities for extracting value from data through predictive modeling and AIM.A key element of success will be linking end-to-end business strategy and process to our technical solutions,eliminating functionalsilos and simplifying our system footprint.

The incumbent will haveoverall IT accountability for multi-million, multi-year strategic initiatives targeted at increasing productivity and speed to knowledge within development of drug substance and drug product processes and supply readiness and accelerating time to filing and tech transfer to commercial manufacturing, including both capital investments in R&D manufacturing facilities as well as digital capabilities for the labs, pilot plants, and Clinical Supply logistics. In this portfolio of initiatives, the successful candidate is accountable for developing the plans to execute on these strategies, negotiating necessary investments and timelines, and establishing appropriate governance and change management to ensure the overall performance of the teams and realization of the financial and operational outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Align with Business leadership acrossDevelopment Sciences & Clinical Supply (DSCS)to understand and influence business strategic outcomes in alignment with divisional strategies;Develop quantifiable indicators ofsuccess and plans to execute, including appropriate approaches to change management, business adoption and value realization.

  • Stay current with industry trends to identify emerging areas of focus and opportunities that can benefitfrom technologyenablement, including deep learning and generative AI.

  • Build strong cross functional relationships with various business stakeholders and ITteams, applying expertise to resolve complex scientific technology and data problems.

  • Ensure effective data and technology enablement of DSCS site operations through direction of the activities of digital site leads across research.

  • Partner with RaDS Head of Product and Product Line Leads to translate business strategy and goals to product capability roadmaps,negotiating tradeoffs and staging to maximize value, and ensuring solutions are adopted and deliver the expected businessoutcomes.

  • Work with the network of Business Technology partners within R&D IT and the other Divisions IT to havecommon understanding of business priorities, identify synergies and opportunities for cross-divisionalsolutioning

  • Defining and managing the portfolio of investments needed to realize business strategy, including the development and socialization of business cases, leading thequarterly business reviews and ensuring the appropriate tracking of KPIs for value realization.

Education Minimum:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Life Science

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 10+ years prior experience in Enterprise, Business, Information, Systems & Application orSolutionArchitectures.

  • Broad understanding of drug product development, drug substance development, clinical manufacturing and Clinical Supply logistics processes, technologies and data types; Broad

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate strategy and translate to technologyroadmaps, and influence enterprise technology strategy.

  • Exposure to pharmaceutical product development andcommercialization

  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with and through others to achieve sharedgoals

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to addressingchallenges

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills at executive level - listening withempathy, able to effectively communicate complex concepts in simpleways, and influence stakeholders to achieve focus on highest value opportunities.

  • Self-directed, self-motivated, driven leader who with little direction can fill in the gaps asto what is needed, and drive expected results.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Business consulting experience, including large program management

  • Data strategy experience

  • Experience with AI/ML, genomics, research information systems, lab automation

  • Experience or training with developing KPIs and OKRs

  • Business process design & Change management

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Expected salary range:

$220,700.00 - $347,500.00
