Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare distinctive and creative Jamaican/Caribbean dishes for our menu, with a focus on brunch offerings.
- Lead and manage kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and hygiene.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to meet and exceed culinary standards.
- Demonstrated track record of implementing cost-saving initiatives and driving profitability.
- Strong understanding of labor cost control management, food cost management, and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with the management team to design a cost-effective and appealing menu pricing strategy.
- Foster a culture of excellence and passion for Caribbean cuisine.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume, upscale dining establishment.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional culinary experience
- Proven track record of launching and running a successful kitchen.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Experience in menu costing and the ability to create profitable menu items.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A passion for Caribbean culture and cuisine.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
