The Opportunity
The Policy and Government Affairs team leads all policy work across Emerson Collective. Working closely with the Managing Director of Policy and Government Affairs, the Executive Assistant will support the development of Emerson Collective’s federal policy priorities and coordinate the day-to-day administrative activities/tasks for the team. They should be able to conduct research and draft necessary resources and materials relevant to all EC issue areas and prepare updates for EC teams. They should also have excellent written and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting with teams in different time zones.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Amplify executive bandwidth by performing an extensive array of core administrative tasks, proactively manage competing and concurrent priorities while gracefully representing the MD internally and externally.
- Enable success by driving important meetings forward: strategically managing a complex, dynamic, and extremely active calendar; schedule and organize meetings in a timely manner; assist with the production of materials, pre-reads, and tracking deliverables
- Execute contracts for consultants and vendors.
- Manage and track the team’s yearly Objectives and Key Results and the team’s budget.
- Assist with research, data visualization, presentations, drafting correspondence, proofreading, and editing summaries of proposals, articles and other work
- Support & project manage meeting planning, department organized convenings and other events and special projects
- Maintain contacts in Salesforce and prepare lists as needed
Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements
- 5-8 years as an Executive Assistant or similar role, ideally within government, public policy, or legislative affairs
- Ability to think strategically, critically, and creatively
- Confidence to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once and prioritize within a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to integrate quickly into a small team
- Ability to maintain the highest level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality when dealing with highly confidential matters and high-level individuals
