Physical Requirements:Ability to move through building and to attend meetings across campus and off campus, sitting for long periods of time and repetitive motion tasks.
Shift:Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Some evenings and weekends as needed.
Job Summary:UK Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement is seeking a creative, forward-thinking and organized candidate for the Event Coordinator position. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Stakeholder Events, the Event Coordinator creates relevant, meaningful content and events. The position will coordinate event/project marketing logistics in conjunction with program coordinator and marketing team. The position will also execute initiatives designed to engage donors and members through partnerships with college and unit philanthropy officers that advance prospect relationships and enhance the donor pipeline.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members and partners. • Understanding of higher education.; • Knowledge of best practices in advancement generally and alumni relations specifically.; • Demonstrated connection or familiarity with the University of Kentucky.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? :No
Preferred Education/Experience:• Minimum of two years’ experience in higher education, alumni relations, association management or in a closely related field.; • Demonstrated organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communications skills.; • the ability to work effectively with people as partners and team members.; • Experience with event planning, oversight and direction.; • Significant and progressively responsible experience in the management and integration of marketing, communications and strategic planning, • Experience working with diverse groups of people and a demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
