Position Summary:
If you have exceptional organizational skills and love planning memorable events that bring people together to share in culture, community, and education - then we want you to join our team as the Events Coordinator.Office of the Vice Chancellor for Rural, Community and Native Education (VC RCNE) is seeking a full-time Events Coordinator. This position will carry out planning and logistical arrangements of college and unit-level events that arise throughout the year, including various symposiums, workshops, conferences, and lecture series in support of the Alaska Native Success Initiative. The incumbent will be highly organized and focused on delivering a high-quality service to event patrons and clients.
As the Events Coordinator, you will be the creative go-to person coordinating everything from symposiums to training sessions. You will have the unique opportunity to work with teams in two distinct colleges to successfully host events recognizing industry partnerships, student registration events, celebrating first-generation graduates, cultural events like the Festival of Native Arts and Indigenous Peoples' Day, and so much more.
To be successful in this role, the successful candidate will need to have stellar interpersonal skills, develop good relationships with clients and vendors, and have the ability to think creatively to solve unexpected problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree and three years of progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This position is located on the UAF campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
