Position Summary: The UAA College of Engineering is seeking an Events and Special Projects Coordinator. This is an exciting new, part-time position. The person should have experience with event planning, possess strong project management skills, and demonstrate strong oral and written skills to effectively communicate with internal and external constituents.

With other members of the College of Engineering Dean's Office will coordinate/assist with Special Projects, Events and activities related to alumni and donor engagement, and recruitment and retention. The College of Engineering Dean's Office is collaborative and team oriented utilizing different members' strengths and abilities to meet our mission: To educate and inspire, and explore innovative solutions that engage Alaska and beyond while valuing Innovation, Collaboration, and Excellence.

The successful candidate should be able to work with a team of colleagues to further the mission of CoEng. The person should have experience with event planning, possess strong project management skills, and demonstrate strong oral and written skills to effectively communicate with internal and external constituents.

The successful candidate should have knowledge of methods of organization, research, and analysis. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and institutional laws, rules and regulations relating to administration of program. Working knowledge of computer information systems and applicable software and databases. Ability to comprehend written material and interpret and apply policies, rules, and regulations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups and to work successfully as a member of a team. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to organize and present facts and opinions. Ability to exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Some college coursework and one year experience related to administrative support and office management, or an equivalent combination of training and experience; OR three years of progressively responsible office/administrative experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage main campus in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a part-time, term-funded, non-exempt staff position. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.

Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.

This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
