Camping World is looking for interns for the summer 2023 internship season to work closely with events and experiences. As an intern, you will assist with the planning, coordination and execution of Camping World’s largest events, including onsite corporate activations at dealerships, brand experience activation with our National Partners, and Camping World owned events. If you are eager to learn and have a strong interest in Event Marketing, this is the ideal role for you. Camping World internships are ten-week, full-time, paid internships that will provide a great opportunity for those that want to jumpstart their careers.
Candidates must have the ability to work in our Chicago or Lincolnshire office on a hybrid basis (3 days in office, 2 days remote) for 10 weeks, beginning in June of 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning: Assist in the planning and development of event concepts, themes, and agendas.
- Logistics: Support in logistical aspects, including but not limited to, maintaining event assets at warehouse, ordering, shipping, and receiving materials & equipment, transportation, and accommodations.
- Vendor Coordination: Communicate with and coordinate vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure all event-related services are in place.
- On-Site Support: Assist with event setup/tear down, registration, and manage on-site logistics during the event, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Post-Event Evaluation: Collect feedback and data for post-event analysis. Help create reports to assess the success of the event.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform general administrative duties related to event planning, such as filing, data entry, and maintaining event records.
- Budget Management: Assist with processing invoices, expense management, and financial reporting for events.
- Travel: Travel to events including nights, weekends, and holidays is required for the position.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in event management, hospitality, marketing, or a related field.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high growth environment with the ability to multitask.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Suite
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Creativity and problem-solving abilities.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Strong work ethic with sense of urgency to resolve issues promptly.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time especially when at events and lift 40 pounds or more.
