About the Role
The purpose of this internship is to aid the Landus Events team to raise the profile of the company through events for both internal and external customers, organizations, community members and others. In addition, this internship will offer opportunities to enhance your portfolio, put classroom skills into action, and work with multiple business units.
What will you do?
- Plan and manage events of varying sizes and purposes
- Plan event details and aspects, including seating, dining and guests
- Remain under budget with all costs
- Manage events and address potential problems that may arise
- Plan for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event
- Maintain a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events
- Act as key liaison for Marketing partners and work with them to maximize exposure
- Provide post event recap, budget analysis, and participant feedback for all events
- Oversee procurement of purchasing needs with regards to catering, A/V, security, and rental needs for events
- Coordinate activities of personnel, subcontractors, partners, and vendors as required to successfully execute all aspects of event
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to successful execution of event plans
- Work with the Marketing team to ensure events receive optimal media coverage
- Coordinate travel arrangements as necessary for event related travel
- Travel as required
Candidate Requirements
Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year post-secondary program with an emphasis in communications, marketing, and/or event coordination.
Licenses, Registrations, Certificates
Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license
Location & Commitments
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to prod, handle, feel, or reach.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision and the ability to focus vision.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
