Curtis Media Group has an immediate full-time opening for an Event & Marketing Coordinator for 96.1 BBB, a market-leading Adult Hits/Adult Variety radio station in the Raleigh-Durham market. Qualified candidates will have 3-5 years of event, public relations, marketing, or radio experience, with demonstrated skills and experience in planning and execution of promotions and large-scale events. Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field is preferred.
The Event & Marketing Coordinator will report to the General Manager of the radio station and work closely with the various sales and programming staff members.
The primary responsibility of the Event & Marketing Coordinator will be to create revenue-generating and audience-enhancing promotions, events or programs within the 96.1 BBB brand. As such, the candidate should have the ability to conceptualize, plan and execute at a high level and work effectively with a variety of sales and programming partners, such as concert promotors, vendors, business owners and operators, and entertainment venues.

- Focus on customer service, both inside and outside the radio station; strong people skills are required to interact with clients, sales staff, programming staff, vendors and listeners.
- Experience with and execution of large-scale events or promotions.
- Leadership and management skills to hire, manage and direct part-time staffers.
- Knowledge of or prior experience in the Raleigh-Durham radio market is a plus.
Regular duties include:
- Planning and execution of events of the radio station, in cooperation with the General Manager and Program Director, including sales-based promotions, programming promotions, events, and digital promotions.
- Writing promotional proposals and recaps.
- Working with Curtis Media digital/web producers to execute Event and promotion content for station web sites or social media sites.
- Working closely with station sales staff to solve marketing and sales challenges of clients in cooperation with the station’s programming goals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed calendars of station events and activities and effectively communicate with all members of the WBBB staff.
- Conduct brainstorming sessions or other meetings with staff as needed.
- Nights and weekends are occasionally required.
Required skills:
- Proficiency in various software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs and Calendars.
