Estimator Commercial Flooring

POSITION TITLE: Estimator

PAY RANGE: $50,000- $90,000

General Responsibility:

The Pre-Construction Manager for our Commercial Flooring company plays a pivotal role in the early stages of project planning and preparation. This position requires a strong background in Commercial Flooring, with a primary focus on estimating, quantity take-offs, vendor negotiation, and effective collaboration with the project management team. The Pre-Construction Manager will report to the Project Manager and work closely with them to ensure that projects are well-prepared and executed successfully.

Significant Duties:

Estimating and Quantity Take-Offs:

· Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work.

· Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for materials, labor, and associated costs.

· Conduct quantity take-offs to assess the amount of flooring materials needed.

· Utilize industry-standard software for estimating and take-off purposes.

Flooring Measurement and Cost Calculation:

· Measure and calculate flooring requirements on a per-square-foot basis.

· Determine material quantities required based on project specifications and dimensions.

· Calculate labor hours needed for installation based on the project scope and complexity.

Vendor Negotiation:

· Identify and source appropriate vendors for flooring materials and related products.

· Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to secure the best deals.

· Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure reliable and cost-effective supplies.

Collaboration with Project Manager:

· Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure project requirements are clearly communicated and met.

· Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

· Address any pre-construction issues and provide input for project execution strategies.

Requirements/Qualifications:

· 5+ years Commercial Flooring experience

· Strong knowledge of Commercial Flooring materials, installation methods, and industry standards.

· Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.

· Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate calculations.

· Effective communication and negotiation abilities.

· Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

· Demonstrated proficiency in estimating, take-offs, and vendor negotiation.

· Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

· Strong organizational and project management skills.
