We're currently looking for a Estate Planning (Financial) Content Creator / Evangelist who is passionate about what Vanilla is delivering to customers. You'll be working with a group of diverse designers, developers, operations managers, and attorneys, all of whom share a passion for building beautifully designed products and making complex processes user friendly. 

Job Description

We are looking for a current or former financial advisor or estate specialist with an interest in creating a range of content for Vanilla. You’ll be one of our resident subject matter experts and have a hand in developing our educational materials, blogs, videos and more.

The ideal person for this role can speak to financial advisors in their own language, distilling complex ideas and making them accessible. You’ll be helping educate advisors about Estate Planning, so the more knowledge you have in this arena, the better. You’re a capable writer and comfortable on camera in an educational or webinar format. (Though, if you don’t have a deep professional experience in writing or presenting, that’s okay, as long as you have solid foundational skills and a willingness to learn. Our content team needs your finance and estate expertise!)

This is a part-time, remote consulting role that’s perfect for an advisor or estate expert who enjoys writing and educating, and might want to elevate their own profile a bit in the process. We estimate our need to be 10-20 hours/week, and can be flexible with the right person’s schedule.

Responsibilities include

• Writing and editing articles on Estate Planning, ensuring Vanilla content is factually and legally sound
• Acting as a subject matter expert on finance and Estate Planning for our content team
• Helping devise educational curriculum on Estate Planning for financial advisors
• Speaking on webinars and podcasts as well as Estate Planning courses

Qualifications

• Relevant certifications: CFP or other planning certifications
• Experience as a financial advisor, estate expert or equivalent role
• Foundational understanding of Estate Planning, including advanced strategies for ultra-high net worth clients.
• Strong research skills. Don’t know the answer? You can find it!
• Proven experience creating content across mediums.
• A spirit of collaboration. You’ll work with other writers, designers and experts to create course materials.
• No ego. Or at least not a big one. Doing great work means iteration and being open to feedback and new ideas.
