Job Summary:
An Escrow Officer facilitates real estate transactions by acting as a neutral third party responsible for ensuring that all conditions of the sale are met before the transfer of property ownership occurs. They oversee the escrow process, manage funds, prepare documents, and coordinate with various parties involved in the transaction.
Responsibilities:
- Escrow Process Management:
- Manage the entire escrow process from opening to closing.
- Review purchase agreements, title commitments, and other relevant documents to ensure compliance with contract terms and legal requirements.
- Prepare escrow instructions and documents necessary for the transaction.
- Coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, buyers, and sellers to gather required documentation and information.
- Funds Management:
- Receive and disburse funds related to the transaction, including earnest money deposits, down payments, and closing costs.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Calculate prorations, taxes, and other adjustments as necessary.
- Document Preparation and Review:
- Prepare closing documents, including deeds, affidavits, and settlement statements.
- Ensure all documents are accurately completed and executed according to legal requirements.
- Review title reports and resolve any issues that may affect the transfer of property ownership.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all parties involved in the transaction.
- Communicate effectively with buyers, sellers, lenders, real estate agents, and attorneys to provide updates and address any concerns.
- Coordinate scheduling for property inspections, appraisals, and closing appointments.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with escrow procedures, company policies, and legal requirements.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the escrow process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience working in escrow, title, or real estate transactions.
- Strong understanding of real estate laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as escrow management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Licensing or certification may be required depending on state regulations.

Working Conditions:
- This is a hybrid role.
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work to accommodate closing schedules.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $66,621.00 - $71,293.00 per year
