The Oregon Department of Early Learning & Care (DELC) is excited to announce a permanent opening for an Equity Training and Education Coordinator (Operations & Policy Analyst 3).

This position is part of the Oregon Department of Early Learning & Care (DELC) which is an agency that prides itself on enabling Oregon's young children and families to learn and thrive. We are responsible for overseeing the state's Early Head Start, Head Start, Prenatal to Kindergarten, and Relief Nurseries programs, licensing Oregon's child care providers and developing systems that coordinate regional cross sector partnerships through Early Learning Hubs. DELC partners with local Child Care Resource and Referral organizations to provide professional learning, coaching, consultation and other quality improvement opportunities for early learning and care providers.

What you will do:
The Equity Training and Education Coordinator leads the Equity Training and education programs and provides technical assistance in processes, policy, and performance evaluation to all employees. The purpose of the work in this position is to help employees achieve DELC's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. The work is done by identifying and addressing systemic barriers to ensure all benefit from Early Learning and Care services and investments.

What we are looking for:
A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Political Science or related degree; and four years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work related to diversity, equity and inclusion training.
OR;
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven years of professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work related to diversity, equity and inclusion training.
In addition, we are looking for applicants that have the following Desired Attributes:
  • Grounded in social equity theory and practices with experience in workplace application.
  • Extensive experience, knowledge and lived experience with inclusion and diversity work.
  • Ability to apply emotional awareness and manage/facilitate difficult conversations that create understanding and build trust.
  • Skilled in relational skills with audiences of all levels and backgrounds, demonstrating interpersonal, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory, trauma-informed practices and change management.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across functions.
  • Ability to perform technical research and analysis of laws and regulations and apply them to agency operations, products, and marketing.
  • Project management skills including the ability to develop and implement plans and timelines.

If you make 120 qualifying payments on your student loan while working full time for a qualifying employer, your student loan debt may be forgiven.
