Job Summary Description:
Under the direction of the crew foreman, the Operator will conduct all that daily routine activities associated with trenchless pipe rehabilitation installation in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Job Accountabilities:
- Operates any of the following types of equipment: front-end loaders, backhoe, excavator, air compressor, 10-ton winch.
- Checks and fuels vehicles and performs light mechanical adjustments and assists mechanics in performing repairs on assigned equipment.
- Performs tasks such as setting up trench jacks, chipping manholes, repairing manholes, and fusing pipe.
- Distributes notices to residents and businesses as instructed.
- Assists with installation of the pipe, reconnect services, restoration and clean up, sets up equipment, and loads equipment once the job is completed.
- Utilizes all safety equipment and follows standard operating procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Incumbent must possess and demonstrate proficiency in the above responsibilities. Must demonstrate good communication and interaction skills.
- Holds CDL class A or B
- Must be accurate, detailed, reliable, and able to follow orders on projects and tasks with minimal supervision.
- Must have ability to be proactive and trouble shoot.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of standard field pipe rehabilitation installation procedures.
- Must be able to work in extreme work environments, conditions, and confined spaces.
