Equipment Mechanic/Technician

Ironworks, a Missouri-based, independently owned equipment remanufacturing company, has an immediate opening for an Equipment Mechanic/Technician in St Joseph, MO. This position will be responsible for performing diagnostics & repairing a variety of material handling equipment including but not limited to - aerial lifts, forklifts & scissor lifts.

This is a full-time, hourly position. Monday-Thursday, 10-hours day (40+ hour work week). Hourly pay rate based on experience.

Duties:

Perform maintenance, repair and reconditioning.

Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools (preferable), ability to perform repairs.

Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.

Experience with heavy equipment repair (i.e. boom, aerial lifts etc.) is preferable but not required.

Diagnose machine malfunctions & operating difficulties, make the necessary repairs and adjustments.

Adjust equipment and machinery settings for best performance.

Mechanical background, knowledge of various engine performance, engine repair and electrical systems (preferred)

Attention to detail, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.

Dependability

Other duties assigned as needed.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to lift/move approximately 50-70 lbs. Must be able to remain standing approximately 75% of the time. Occasional bending, stooping, squatting & reaching. Effective written and oral communication skills.

Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, maintenance manuals, service bulletins and diagrams (Preferred, but not required).
