- Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements (e.g. part, rate, schedule, cost, etc.) for new casting lines
- Specify and lay-out equipment for high pressure die casting, from melt through trim, including major equipment and all ancillary items required to operate the cell
- Design custom fixtures, jigs, tools, etc. as needed, providing detailed build to print models/drawings for fabrication
- Evaluate failures and provide technical solutions to improve quality and / or OEE in the specified area. -Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds, (some weekends and holidays required).
- Oversee technical and schedule performance of equipment suppliers
- Commission and troubleshoot new equipment, ensuring performance requirements (e.g. cycle time, uptime) are met
- Create documentation needed to sustain operation of the equipment (e.g. start up and shut down procedures, maintenance schedules and instructions)
- Lead the investigation and adoption of new manufacturing technologies and processes
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience with multiple new equipment installations for high pressure die casting machines
- Experience with multiple new product startups
- Experience introducing new high pressure die casting equipment and new processes into a production environment preferred.
- Experience designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD (Catia/SolidWorks)
- Demonstrated project management abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
