The Department of Epidemiology, Rollins School of Public Health (RSPH), Emory University is seeking an Epidemiologist in Environmental and Reproductive Epidemiology. Current collaborative studies focus on how environmental exposures, such as air pollution and climate change, contribute to infertility and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Based on background, skills, and interests, the candidate would have the opportunity to work on a range of funded projects including air pollution and fertility using a vitrified donor oocyte cohort, climate change and outcomes of assisted reproduction using a large CDC database, environmental influences on the serum and follicular fluid metabolome, and others.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provides technical and scientific expertise for programs in the areas of communicable disease, chronic disease and environmental epidemiology.
- Designs, conducts and reports on the epidemiological study of diseases, collects and analyzes data and develops health education materials.
- Manages and participates in investigations and surveys that have national and international impact.
- Conducts program research and prepares operational and statistical reports.
- May write publishable articles and papers.
- Serves as a liaison to and works with other groups and organizations participating in related programs.
- May travel internationally to supervise field operations.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A doctoral degree in a field related to area of research or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- International travel required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD in Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Biostatistics or other relevant quantitative field
- Demonstrated experience in environmental and/or reproductive epidemiology
- Expertise in data management/analysis, SAS or R (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a good working relationship with others on the team and collaborator
- Demonstrated experience in developing manuscripts for publication
- Interests: environmental epidemiology; air pollution; climate change; infertility; pregnancy; reproductive health; assisted reproductive technologies; metabolomics.
