Job description

The Epic Release Manager supports the mission of Neighborcare by aligning Epic governance workgroups and teams to the annual Epic release calendar of Enhancement pack and Support packs. This work includes documenting changes, evaluating impact of changes, partnering with clinical and other staff to verify readiness for releases. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to balance competing priorities is required.

  • Accountable for the completion and quality of deliverables assigned including but not limited to design documentation, build audits, testing plans and scripts, training curriculum, and support documentation.
  • Communicate release status with project members, with department representatives, and with higher level executive leadership; provide formal status reporting on a periodic basis to leadership as requested.

  • Define and lead business continuity planning/testing for Epic. This not only includes data center destruction, but also localized facility events that require business continuity planning.
  • Analyze issues/problems identified by team members and end-users and assist with resolutions, or appropriately escalate as needed.
  • Implement and coordinate Epic software releases and updates and initiate the process for distributing and reviewing release notes.
  • Facilitates Release Cycle updates in partnership with Site Specialists, ensuring all documentation and training materials are in sync with release improvements.
  • Participate in IT project planning as appropriate
  • Collaborate with application vendors when needed
  • Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, Neighborcare Health policies and procedures, including Neighborcare Health Privacy, Security and Compliance policies and procedures, HIPAA, Code of Conduct, and the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA)
  • Regular attendance at work
  • Other tasks as assigned

Key Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
  • Medical terminology and understanding of workflows
  • Must be proficient and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Adept at persuading and training physicians and staff to adopt new workflows and tools, requiring strong knowledge of change management
  • Knowledge of adult learning and training methods
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information
  • Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, and maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work
  • Strong and sound competency in mapping real-life nursing and physician practices to informatics applications
  • Strong knowledge of systems analysis, workflow planning, gathering business requirements and transforming them into functional specifications
  • Broad knowledge of healthcare operations and associate technologies
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and healthcare guides
  • Excellent ability to translate technical terminology for consumption by non-technical audiences
  • Good familiarity with project management, quality assurance, and information systems design
  • Awareness of current IT security standards, applicable privacy laws
  • Ability to lead and recommend documentation strategy changes to meet current safety and quality trends
  • Expertise with Epic application
  • Expertise in software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Direct experience in healthcare environments, especially ambulatory care
  • Possesses strong change leadership skills, public speaking and ability to inspire others
  • Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Strong "people skills" with the ability to build rapport and demonstrated ability to work across organizations and multiple audiences
  • Comfort with technology and ability to adapt to change
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Attention to detail

Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare and/or Information Sciences or similar. Additional relevant work experience can be applied in lieu of a degree.
Preferred: Clinical experience, Project Management methodologies
Years of Relevant Experience required 3-5 years of product management in a healthcare setting.

Compensation
  • The wage range for this position is minimum 85,633.60to a $119,995.20 maximum
  • Compensation will be determined based on years of relevant experience.
