POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for general maintenance, functionality, safety and upkeep of all facility-related equipment and property owned or operated by TCA Health, Inc., NFP.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to the following);
- Assures the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of all clinic property in accordance with OSHA guidelines including: restrooms, waiting areas, and exam rooms.
- Uses brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, strip and wax floors.
- Uses vacuum cleaners to clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and blinds.
- Dusts furniture and equipment.
- Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets.
- Replenishes restroom supplies.
- Facilitates regular clinic beautification and design
- Waxing, sweeping, and drywall repair/replacing, etc.
- Paints touch up and finish painting of interior and exterior walls.
- Assists staff in furnishing offices, waiting areas, and meeting rooms with appropriate equipment and supplies.
- Assembles and moves furniture, hangs pictures and bulletin boards, makes name plates, moves and sets up tables and chairs.
- Sets up and tears down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and function rooms.
- Picks up and delivers supplies and materials to rooms.
- Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems and performs preventive building maintenance involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
- Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains.
- Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assists in repairing ballast and light fixtures.
- Performs preventive building maintenance duties, caulks windows and doors, repairs and replaces broken windows.
- Repairs and replaces door knobs or locks, repairs door closures, patches holes in walls.
- Uses hand tools and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs and maintaining grounds and walks.
- Purchases supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete projects at the direction of the Facilities Manager.
- Performs seasonal outdoor restoration and grounds-keeping as deemed necessary or appropriate for weather conditions.
- Assists in clearing snow from entrances and walkways.
- Maintains outdoor landscaping and plants according to established schedule of duties.
- Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
- Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to supervisor.
- Provides assistance to staff, patients, and other visitors as necessary.
- Opens and closes clinic according to security procedures.
- Checks building at beginning and end of shifts.
- Participates in building coverage by working evenings and Saturday rotation as required.
EDUCATIONAL/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in custodial work, preferable in a health care setting.
- Must have a current driver’s license, and have daily access to reliable transportation to cover all sites.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.
- Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of medical office buildings.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Skilled in reading and following blueprints and assembly instructions.
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Skilled in using hand and power tools.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
