Description:
Interns will perform routine environmental compliance tasks using standard procedures under supervision of SNM2R professionals and may assist designers and technicians in disciplines related to their field of study. Interns will typically support one or more experienced professionals in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual field activities, environmental compliance audits, , and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities: Environmental Compliance interns will be expected to perform the following key responsibilities with assistance from a SNM2R professional:
· Assisting with environmental site assessments, field studies, development of soil and groundwater sampling plans, data analysis, GIS analysis, site remediation, and preparation of environmental reports, permits, and assessments
· Gathering and/or providing data for the preparation of engineering or environmental reports including but not limited to SPCC Plans, SW3P Plans, SWMPs, Phase I and Phase II ESAs, and Environmental Compliance Audit Reports.
· Conducting Environmental Compliance Audits, and field investigations and/or survey assistance to gather information
· Assist in the collection of various sample matrices (soil, groundwater, sediment)
· Inspecting/Auditing construction operations
· Performing related duties such as collecting and correlating data; maintaining records; and operating sampling equipment
Qualifications:
Key requirements are listed but not limited to the following:
· Candidate should currently be in pursuit of Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, biology or related degree from an accredited program with at least one year of post-secondary education
· Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a related field.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong problem solving and analytical skills
· Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field
· Valid driver's license
· Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status
