  • The Specialist/Sr. Specialist Environmental Safety and Health is responsible for supporting company leadership to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained. This position resides in the Regulatory and Environmental Compliance organization.

What you'll do

  • Occupational Safety & Health subject matter expert for the company as it relates to OSHA, NFPA, ANSI and Safety, Policies and Procedures
  • Develop and support the implementation of the company’s environmental and employee safety policies and procedures.
  • Review and interpret federal, state, and local regulations associated with company activities.
  • Manage occupational safety & health self-audit programs to ensure domestic stations maintain compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Conduct internal compliance audits.
  • Assist in coordinating operational OSHA responses and maintain recordkeeping of regulatory correspondence, including receipt, distribution, and tracking.
  • Represent the company during regulatory conferences to mitigate penalties/fines.
  • Manage corporate initiatives related to OSHA and environmental compliance.
  • Prepare safety related communications.
  • Build relationships with all levels of management and labor groups.
  • Assist local management with investigating workplace accidents.
  • Participate in internal/external working groups.
  • Lead PPE Review Board Committee and keep the company’s PPE catalogs up to date.


All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in transportation, engineering, science, hazardous materials, or related discipline
  • At least 2 years work experience in Environmental, Occupational Safety & Health.
  • Excellent written communication skills required.
  • Strong aptitude for problem solving.
  • OSHA 10.
  • Experience in establishing Safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Certified Safety Professional preferred.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • OSHA30.

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex requirements to large audiences who possess a wide variety of subject matter expertise.
  • Ability to follow through and complete projects as individual contributor or collaborate as a team member with effective drive for results.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task workload.
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor in fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to support a 24/7 operation.
  • Experience in working with vendors and industry organizations.
  • Work independently with multiple work groups within and outside of the company.
  • Ability to cope with stressful situations, work variable hours and travel as required with overnight hotel stays.
  • Strong organizational skills required with the ability to manage numerous projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills needed to effectively inform and persuade.
  • Independent judgement and decision-making capabilities are essential.
  • Knowledge of Tableau is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills are required with knowledge of information systems and database management (word, excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook).
