$18.71/Hr, Full time (40 Hrs weekly) position, Monday through Friday.

SUMMARY:

Cleans and disinfects assigned work areas according to department procedures, maintaining a clean, safe environment. May include removal of medical waste, trash, and linens.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Performs routine cleaning and sanitizing functions in assigned areas following established work schedules and using prescribed methods.

· Uses cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies.

· Cleans and disinfects bathrooms.

· Cleans and disinfects kitchenettes and dining areas.

· Wipes and dusts surfaces and cleans mirrors.

· Vacuums and cleans floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes.

· Picks up and empties trash containers.

· Assists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request.

· Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness; arranges for repairs when needed.

· Observes and reports needed repairs of furniture and building fixtures.

· When assigned, collects, sorts, launders, folds, and distributes laundry and linens.

· Maintains supply distribution and arranges for ordering through supervisor as needed.

· Performs special assignments when warranted, i.e., deep cleaning, light bulb changing, light floor care, rearranging furniture.

· Demonstrates a positive, courteous, and helpful attitude towards Sisters, visitors, residents, and co-workers within and outside the department.

· Demonstrates initiative, independence, and judgment in carrying out recurring assignments.

· Demonstrates the ability to be understood and to understand a wide range of internal and external contacts including, but not limited to, Sister residents, co-workers and guests.

· Facilitates teamwork through the acceptance and expression of constructive comments.

· Treats co-workers with respect and fosters a team approach to accomplish tasks.

· Regular, predictable attendance is required.

· Must be able to function independently as well as with a team and be willing to receive direction and learn.

· Maintains a steady pace, completing work within time requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Education sufficient to read, write, and speak as needed for the job.

· One year of institutional or similar cleaning experience preferred.

· Basic knowledge of housekeeping equipment, standards and practices preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Prolonged periods of standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.

· Ability to occasionally move small furniture.

· Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
