Summary:
Tetra Tech is looking to hire an Environmental Project Manager to help facilitate federal and state permitting of energy projects across the United States. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years' experience working with federal, state, and local agencies, including helping facilitate and permit renewable projects from site design to ready build phase.
Your Role:

  • Project Management - Management of project from contract award to build-ready phase, including but not limited to internal and external coordination with clients, vendors/contractors, providing quality assurance/quality control, keeping tasks on budget and schedule, and securing permit approvals from federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Project Liaison - Represent Tetra Tech and clients in meetings with federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) - Manage and QA/QC internal/external technical and supporting environmental reports for inclusions as part of permit applications.
  • Regulatory - Keep up to date on Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Section 404 and Section 401 permitting requirements of the Clean Water Act,; Federal and NYS-listed Rare, Threatened, & Endangered Species Permitting; the National Environmental Policy Act, and/or other similar regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in environmental sciences, biology, geography, urban planning or related field.
  • 15+ years proven track record of permitting expertise in development, preferably in oil and gas and renewables.
  • Knowledge of state-level permitting processes.
  • Strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently in verbal and written correspondence.
  • Experienced in environmental impact analysis, diligence, and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy development/construction processes.
  • Knowledge of Google Earth, and/or ESRI ArcGIS preferred.
  • Microsoft Office, project management software preferred.
  • Self-starter, very self-reliant and capable of operating with minimum supervision.
  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
