The EHS/Safety Manager is responsible for coordinating all safety related programs and procedures at RedBuilt’s Stayton Plant.
The ideal candidate will have experience in health/safety and preferable a manufacturing background.
Tasks Include:
- Oversight of the Environment, Health, and Safety program for the operation.
- Develop, coordinate, and track Associate Safety/Environmental training.
- Present initial new-hire safety trainings.
- Manage and maintain Safety and Environmental training documentation.
- Lead and assist with incident investigations looking for root-causes including identifying behavior-based causations and overseeing improvement programs.
- Help perform Associate safety coaching and hazard recognition training.
- Perform routine safety inspections and create corrective actions to address Safety and Environment issues.
- Assist in the development and implementation of plant and department annual Safety Action Plans.
- Assist in management of Drug Free Workplace and fitness for duty programs.
- Coordination and management of workers’ compensation cases with insurance carrier personnel, as well as coordination of return-to-work with possible physical limitations.
- Assist Stayton management and Associates with Safety and Environment concerns.
- Lead Environmental and Safety regulatory requirements, including compliance inspections and testing (air, waste water, hazardous waste, stormwater, OR-OSHA, etc.).
- Ensure all Safety and Environmental requirements are completed on time and all required reports are submitted before mandated deadlines.
- Writing technical reports and other correspondence as needed.
- Be an active member of the plant Associate Safety Committee and advise/coach them on their required responsibilities and duties.
- Annually review and update all Safety and Environmental programs and policies.
- Update lunchroom TV monitors display program with announcements, business data, etc.
- Issue Associate LOTO locks and hasps as requested by a Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or related science is a plus.
- Three or more years’ experience in Environmental, Safety, and Health Management is a plus.
- Wood products experience is a plus. Some form of manufacturing or safety experience is required.
- Extensive knowledge of OR-OSHA procedures, related standards, and regulations is expected. OR-OSHA SHARP Certification program experience or knowledge is a plus.
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Office (WORD, EXCEL. POWER POINT, & ACCESS) skills expected.
- Commitment to high Safety and Environmental standards.
- Must have strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive/energetic team environment.
- Detail and results oriented.
- Willingness to jump in and take on new assignments and be able to figure out where and who your resources are when you need help.
- Strong self-management as well as able to help operations keep on track.
- Ability to network with other professionals and operations in related fields and identify opportunities for improving RedBuilt.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong business writing and presentation ability.
- Must be willing on occasion to travel outside the region to support other locations or for training.
- Works well with little supervision, able to prioritize tasks in an everchanging environment, and manages time well with proven results.
- A self-starter who innovates programs/procedures to improve Plant Safety/Environmental status of the plant.
- Either certified or willing to be certified instructor for 1st-Aid/CPR/AED, forklift operator, man/scissor lift operator, and overhead crane operator.

Wage Range: $65k-$85k DOE
