What you will do-
You will be responsible for the day-to-day Environmental, Health & Safety activities that are required to maintain compliance with Company standards and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for driving a culture of compliance through providing support to the Company EHS Manager, Facilities and Maintenance Team, and/or site management on various EHS issues. You will ensure a safe and accident-free work environment and minimize the impact upon the environment. You will work cross-functionally as the initial and primary communication contact for the EHS Department onsite to understand specific needs of the site and provide technical and administrative support that promotes our Corporate Success Tree and impacts the success of the business.
Lead and sustain site safety committee to communicate and audit regulations and procedures to site management as they relate to EHS concerns
Implement and sustain EHS Site policies, practices, and procedures to support the company EHS initiatives and communicate required EHS compliance to supervision.
Maintain accurate records and files pertaining to site specific company EHS file plans
Ensure EHS incidents, issues, near misses, property damages, etc. are properly reported, documented, investigated and trended
Maintain site chemical inventory and site SDS files. Ensure that there is an effective process in place to identify site hazards and risks and that the process includes steps for risk mitigation
Perform EHS and facilities/maintenance related tasks as identified. These include, preparing waste for shipment (hazardous, non-hazardous, special, biohazardous), record influent water readings, conduct periodic inspections, audits, risk assessments and accident/incident investigations, assist in preparing required reports, complete assigned PMs, maintain EHS Web Page and other computer files
What you need-
Bachelor's degree highly preferred; or in lieu of a degree, 6 years of equivalent experience will be considered, in addition to the requirement below
4 years of EHS experience or related experience - required
Experience in a manufacturing environment "preferred"
Experience performing risk assessments and audits - required
Certifications for CPR and First Aid, Hazardous Waste Shipper, etc "preferred"
Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA, ISO and DOT regulations and reporting timelines, including basic understanding of Form R & Tier II reporting, Hazardous & Biohazardous Waste Management, Clean Water Act and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), OSHA 300 & 301 Logs "preferred"
