YOUR DAY TO DAY:
The EHS Technician will conduct hazardous waste and materials programs for assigned site: surveys and analyzes operations and makes recommendations to assure compliance to local, state and federal laws for the appropriate storage and/or disposal of hazardous raw materials or waste.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Inspects hazardous material containers to determine compatible storage and operating procedures.
- Periodically reviews and updates hazardous materials storage requirements and performs audits of storage areas.
- Tracks hazardous waste shipping manifests to assure proper disposal and its documentation.
- Orders vendor services and coordinates pre-ship analysis; ensures that proper state hazardous waste permits, vendor profiles, and purchasing requirements are in place.
- Performs groundwater/storm water sampling.
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:
- The ability to independently and repeatedly move a 50-pound drum that contains hazardous materials is an essential skill for this position.
- Must have high school/GED education or experience in the EH&S or environmental compliance field.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Must be a US person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible for this position.
Salary Range: $22.00 -$28.00 / hour
