EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As an Environmental Engineering Trainee, you will participate in a 12-month formal and on-the-job training program to learn the responsibilities of an Environmental Engineering Specialist. You will work under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer and will perform a variety of duties relevant to continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS). This includes assisting with the certification and auditing of CEMS, reviewing CEMS emissions reports, and assisting with the development and implementation of enhancements of the CEM Data Processing System Application. Other duties you will be responsible for include, but are not limited to: Assisting with the technical and engineering review of test protocols Observing and reviewing performance tests conducted by the operators of a facility Communicating with company officials to discuss monitoring plans, protocols, testing requirements, test results, and emissions data Participating in meetings with the public and company officials regarding DEP rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresPeriodic travel for performance test observations, field audits, meetings, and conferences is an expectation of this position. Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
