Environmental Engineer (Water/ Wastewater)

We have exciting opportunities for motivated, achievement-oriented individuals to join our growing treatment plant team in Seattle, WA. Brown and Caldwell is seeking Sr. Associate Environmental Engineers with experience in wastewater municipal planning and design projects to manage, execute and/or technically lead wastewater treatment and planning projects, including managing project budgets, schedules, and scopes of work. The Sr. Associate Environmental Engineer will prepare and lead client presentations, develop project quality management plans and delegate, mentor, and oversee the work of junior engineers.  The Sr Associate will also leverage technical experience and knowledge to provide input on business development pursuits and to give technical/project presentations at industry conferences.

Detailed Description:

The Sr. Associate Environmental Engineer will utilize experience in wastewater municipal planning and design projects to manage, execute and/or technically lead wastewater treatment and planning analysis.

Job duties:

• Manage, execute, and/or technically lead wastewater treatment and planning analysis, including managing project budgets and scope of work.
•  Independently solve complex problems and create a framework for analysis.
•  Implement PMI best practices by monitoring project progress, coordinating between the project team and client staff, identifying and documenting project changes, evaluating project risks, and developing monthly invoice documentation.
•  Facilitate, prepare, participate in, and lead presentations at client meetings.
•  Support development of project-specific Quality Management Plans that adhere to Brown and Caldwell’s QA/QC standards and implement the QMP.
•  Delegate and oversee work of other technical staff and engineers and provide mentorship.
•  Help solidify BC’s position as a leader in the wastewater industry by giving conference and webinar presentations to professional meetings and producing publications.
•  Develop project quality management plans and delegate/oversee the work of junior engineers.
•  Leverage technical experience and knowledge to provide input on business development pursuits as well as participate in strategy planning meetings and client interviews.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as Visual Hydraulics, AFT Fathom, and AFT Arrow or equivalent engineering analysis software.
•  Telecommuting is permitted.
• Regional travel may be required, in-person attendance at internal and external meetings in the Puget Sound area is required.

Minimum Requirements:

•  Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field of study.
•  Five years of experience in any related occupation providing Environmental Engineering services.
• Must possess a Washington State Professional Engineer license.

Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location of Seattle, WA.

Salary $103,000 - $141,000
