Hourly Rate: $17.77
Duration of Assignment: May through August; until return to school; or worked 500 hours
Job Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, Southwest Regional Office, and will be located at 2040 W. Woodland, Springfield, MO
Why you'll love this position:
You will be assisting the Water Pollution Section with providing compliance assistance to and conducting evaluations at regulated facilities. You will also interact with others in the office to obtain an understanding of everything the Department does. You will work both independently and with a group.
What you'll do:

• Provide compliance assistance both through field assessments or phone contact with facilities operating under the authority of the Missouri Clean Water Law
• Assist facilities with returning to compliance with any deficiencies as noted in the evaluations
• Assist other Water Pollution Section staff with routine facility inspections and investigations

Professional Experience to be Gained:

• Knowledge of general Water Pollution control requirements
• General knowledge and experience with overall Department operations

All you need for success:

• Degree in (or seeking) biology, chemistry, environmental protection, or similar related fields
• Excellent communication skills to interact with regulated entities and team members
• Ability to traverse uneven, rough, or difficult terrain
• Ability to travel, operate a motor vehicle, and maintain a valid operator's license.
• Ability to work in the field in a variety of weather conditions
