Cork Medical is a fast-paced medical device & equipment company seeking a Patient Care Representative in Indianapolis, Indiana. Cork Medical specializes in designing and manufacturing innovative products for the treatment and prevention of wounds. The company products consist of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, Specialty Mattresses, Overlays, and Cushions.
General Purpose
This Patient Care Representative is designed for those candidates looking to begin a career in the medical device field. This position plays a critical role in providing valuable support to our sales representatives and effectively responding to customer and prospect queries. In this position, you will learn the ropes of getting durable medical equipment (DME) verified and authorized through patient’s health insurance by supporting our best sales reps. This role is ideally suited for someone who is highly detail oriented, loves the challenge of leading the administrative paperwork process with multiple sources to take administrative tasks to completion, is a adept problem solver, enjoys communicating with patients and medical professions on the phone, and wants to become an expert in insurance qualifications, paperwork, and the healthcare accounts that we support. This position is an Entry Level position with opportunities for career advancement.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Support the sales representatives
- Acts as the patient’s main point of contact for Cork Medical
- Acts as a liaison between the company, the patient, referral sources, and insurance companies
- Patient communication-introducing patient to the company and the process for obtaining equipment
- Collecting any insurance information needed from patient
- Prepare and send all documentation required to the physician
- Receive proper documentation from prescribing physician and send in for approval
- Keep Sales Rep up to date with the status of each patient’s order and any other necessary information
- Data entry and heavy paperwork, fax, phone, and email communications
- Reviewing orders and specific customer requests to ensure excellent customer service
- Ensure up to date and accurate paperwork and documentation of all the facts and details
Education and Experience
- College Degree
- Seeking recent college graduates
- Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment
- Strong Computer and keyboard skills required. Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Must have good communication skills which includes written as well as spoken
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of various medical terms and procedures a plus

Salary: $16-$18 hourly, plus monthly bonus based on performance
