Job Summary

If you're interested in an Entry Level Research Associate job, then this is the best role for you The Research Associate will be working collaboratively with a large production team of FTE’s and contractors to deliver daily and weekly genotyping targets under tight deadlines. Will primarily be responsible for operating manual and automated lab processes in a PCR lab. The role may also include additional various tasks in sample prep, PCR, general lab stocking and supply upkeep.

Job Description

• Performs laboratory technical tasks.
• Responsible for the care and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Will be required to help in the operation of the equipment and the gathering of data.
• Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, ordering and stocking.
• Processing samples through PCR via manual and automated lab equipment, prepping and stocking lab consumables, sample prep.

Skills Required

• 1 to 2 years of experience.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
• Demonstrate reliability:
  • This is a business-critical position to keep our lab running 7 days a week across multiple shifts. The candidate must be a reliable presence on this shift. Position may require flexible or off shift hours during peak times.
• High Throughput/production/sample management:
  • Our lab processes 2+ million samples per year with fast turn-around times. Any experience handling a large number of samples daily (lab, etc.), or in a fast-paced environment (retail, food service, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with LIMS is a plus.
• Automation/mechanical aptitude:
  • Must be comfortable running and troubleshooting automation independently with little guidance on this shift. Biologists with engineering/technical aptitudes are encouraged to apply.
  
  

Education/Training/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to pass drug screen & criminal background check.
• Shift: AM - 07:00 AM, Monday- Friday Day Shift

Pay Rate/Salary

• Estimated Salary: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour based on qualifications.
