Maccaferri Inc. is a manufacturer and supplier of products used in civil engineering and geotechnical applications. The Geohazard Business Unit focuses on products used in rockfall, debris flow, and avalanche hazard mitigation across the United States and Canada.

Maccaferri, Inc is seeking an entry-level Technical Representative to support our Geohazard Business Unit. This individual will be responsible for supporting the Business Unit by providing technical support to consultants and contractors, analyzing project conditions and providing geohazard solutions for projects, developing material quantity estimates and price proposals, supporting the sales and marketing activities of the business unit, gaining necessary regulatory product approvals with local agencies and civil/geotechnical consultants. The candidate would be required to relocate to an area within a reasonable commute to the office in Hagerstown, MD; relocation reimbursement is available and to be negotiated.

Primary Responsibilities & Characteristics:

• Self-starting, problem solver
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook. Experience in AutoCad preferred.
• Conduct commercial technical sales activity including project tracking, bidding, and quoting
• Provide technical presentations and instruction to consultants and regulators
• Interpret civil engineering plans and specifications, conduct preliminary take-offs and apply our solutions accordingly
• Work with Business Unit Manager to create and execute a strategic business plan identifying priority initiatives based on market conditions
• Strive to become an Expert Resource through continuous development and experience related to our products, the industry we serve and associated trends
• Further responsibilities and individual characteristics as assigned

Qualifications:

• US citizenship or already permitted to work in the US
• Willing to relocate; relocation expense is available
• Geotechnical, Mining, Geological or related engineering (BS+)
• Familiar with standard engineering documentation and processes
• Independently motivated and also excels in team environments
• Demonstrate a record of long-term commitment
• Valid driver’s license
