Job description

In this role will work closely with and be mentored by nationally recognized, senior technical staff. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for the environment, meeting new people and a desire to learn from seasoned professionals who are providing environmental services for local candidates. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Work closely with Project Managers and other team members to execute work involving civil and Environmental Engineering principles for water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with environmental studies, technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables.
  • Perform calculations, models, and other technical deliverables. 
  • Work on engineering designs, preparing reports, construction plans, specifications, calculations, equipment selection, and cost estimates for various projects.
  • Collect and record data and documentation to verify performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspection and testing.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, documents, drawings and maps (in GIS)

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • BS degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, etc.) or related field required.
  • EIT preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Teams Project, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS and hydraulic modeling platforms preferred
  • Experience using engineering calculation software (MathCAD, MATLAB) preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment under tight and pressured deadlines
  • Must be able to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing priorities  
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and access field sites of various sizes that may have areas of uneven, muddy, and/or rocky ground and wadable waterbodies that may have steep and/or slippery banks to perform field work
  • Ability to work for short periods of time in extreme temperatures including heat and cold
  • Ability to wear required safety equipment at sites including hard hats, steel toed boots (or other approved toe protection), etc.
  • Ability and willingness to complete required health & safety training
  • Ability to remain alert and vigilant while working in the field and be able to walk swiftly for a short distance to clear an area where a potential hazard is identified

          Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.  These ranges may be modified in the future.

          Location A:

          Salary: $57,000 - $77,000
