Purpose
The Enterprise Architect works with business stakeholders across the enterprise to support the development of data strategy and collaborates with all levels of management to support the successful execution of that strategy. The Enterprise data architect sets and maintains the holistic vison for data based on the business strategy and works with technology leads to define the activities to drive the optimal architecture to achieve the business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Work with key business stakeholders across the enterprise to help reach Enterprise Architecture decisions to support business goals.
Ensure alignment of data strategy and planning with company’s business goals, assuming strategic architecture responsibility for Enterprise data domain technology.
Create capability models and roadmaps in support of business strategies balancing short- and long-term goals.
Develop multiyear roadmaps and align capability models to technology roadmaps to realize business strategies.
Develop current and future state architecture for all domains within data.
Collaborate with other architects to develop common Enterprise Architecture directive when business needs overlap such as Finance, Sales and Customer Experience.
Perform industry and technology research & evaluation, writing point of view (POV) and sharing perspectives on a technology’s suitability for the enterprise.
Establish standards & principles and the governance frameworks.
Provide technical consultation, meeting with colleagues to provide technical expertise and perspective.
Develop goals, objectives, and strategies for the department.
Provide direction and influence to the team to achieve business goals
Lead and manage organizational change and will help team members adapt to changes.
Key Competencies and Skills Required
Communication : A core requirement for an architect is being able to effectively communicate to different audiences. It is important to be able to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in written documents (graphics or text), and to present these coherently and logically.
Business Acumen : An architect is driven by the business needs and strategy, team members should exhibit a solid understanding of how the organization's business objectives and processes, and what drivers and trends, are influencing the industry and ecosystem.
Influence & Negotiation : Architecture requires the ability to enable decision making, and part of this is about securing buy-in, as well as negotiation. It is essential that architects are able to collaborate to deliver results, and to resolve conflicts expediently.
Technology Leadership : The architecture team often has a key role in leading and progressing architectural plans and activities in the organization. This requires architects to be able to constructively lead and work with other architects, as well as with members of other organizational teams.
Technical Acumen: Architecture team members need to be aware of the current IT operational issues and direction, and ensure that IT operations is kept informed of future-state plans.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of database management systems, data modeling, and ETL processes.
Familiarity with data governance, data quality management, and metadata management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
Experience with various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, etc.).
Managerial experience leading and developing a team of 3-5 team members
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in data management or related areas is a plus
Spanish speaking
3+ years of management experience
