Program provides outreach, temporary shelter via Hotel Voucher, transportation, and Housing Location services to clients that are experiencing homelessness. We are contracted through the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency within the jurisdiction of the Housing Authority of the County of San Diego through organized county outreach events and referrals, we enroll eligible clients that are experiencing homelessness and provide shelter. Our Housing Locators will work diligently with clients to identify and apply for housing opportunities. This includes locating affordable units, completing applications, preparing clients for landlord interviews, and attending landlord interviews with the clients.

Pay: $25/hour Location: Office location is in Escondido and Travel throughout San Diego County will be required (mileage is paid weekly at the current GSA rate) Schedule: Monday/Friday 8am-5pm (Full Time) This position is responsible for initial enrollment of all clients through coordination with the Office of Homeless Solutions. The Enrollment Coordinator is the first program staff that clients will engage with and sets the overall tone and expectation for the program. In addition to enrolling the clients in the program, they will also work alongside the team to ensure all exits are done timely and in accordance with policy and procedure. This position will also ensure that Hotel Vouchers are completed timely and extensions are provided as needed. There will also be support to the Housing Locators to ensure that all documents and files are received and in the client files.

 

  • In coordination with the county complete all enrollments for the project to place in immediate shelter
  • Set up hotel reservations for all clients that are to be enrolled into the program 
  • Ensure all intake and enrollment documents are complete and accurate
  • Collect all client documents that the client has at time of enrollment
  • Assist clients with setting up transportation (Uber/Lyft, bus passes) to the hotels once enrollment is complete
  • Enter all data into the company database and HMIS, enroll all clients into the Coordinated Entry System
  • Create new client file that includes all intake and enrollment documents required by the contract Statement of Work (SOW)
  • Provide clear overview and expectations to the client of program requirements
  • Identify any apparent client barriers at the time of enrollment and communicate through an enrollment summary

Client Exits- Assists with completing client exists

  • Ensure that all necessary steps and documentation are complete and in accordance with contract SOW and program processes and procedures
  • Ensure all exits are completed in company database and HMIS
  • Assist with onsite exit process when needed

Hotel Vouchers- Monitor all Hotel Voucher expiration dates in database 

  • Communicate and verify with Housing Locators if extension is needed .
  • Make hotel reservations and complete Hotel Vouchers, obtain clients signatures
  • Ensure that all Hotel Reservations are complete and any changes are adjusted and communicated

Other Duties/ Core competencies 

  • Understanding of Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality Attend team meetings as scheduled
  • Ability to encourage and promote positivity to clients through motivational interviewing
  • Ability to interact with various internal and external teams: internal peers and departments, county representatives, property owners/managers, hotels staff, various agencies and non-profits
  • Awareness of encrypting sensitive information when communicating client information

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in a Social Services field working with diverse populations preferred but not required
  • College degree in Public Health or Social Service preferred but not required
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Email, and Data Entry
  • Technical savviness with technology tools and resources
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work with diverse populations including those experiencing homelessness
