ASI is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to work in various locations, including Patuxent River, MD. Engineering Technicians perform various tasks related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of weapon systems and information systems.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Government’s leadership in the execution of complex tasks
- Apply engineering techniques, principles, and precedents to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, or operate electrical, electronic, avionics, mechanical, communications, stores, armament/ordnance, or related data processing systems for military weapon systems or associated support equipment or components
- Review, analyze, develop, prepare, or apply engineering, technical, or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures
- Organize, analyze, and prepare reports or presentations of technical data and information
- Plan and perform tests and evaluations of systems equipment or components
- Compile process, reduce, or analyze test data results
- Collect, compile, analyze, investigate, research, or apply maintenance, acquisition, and information
- Develop, modify, prepare, or validate documentation in relation to engineering, maintenance, and management information systems
- Perform and support reliability demonstration and qualification testing, accelerated-life tests, and create/develop test plans and procedures
- Review Engineering Change Proposals for R&M considerations
- Determine key R&M metrics, identify problem areas, and assist in developing design modifications and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
- Analyze need for and recommend requirements for Predictive Maintenance (PdM)
- Assist in creating and updating Maintenance Plans, Standard Work Packages (SWPs), and training material
- Generate various reports outlining findings and recommendations
- Develop and update data for technical manuals including repair, inspection, and Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB) manuals
- Work on maintainability programs with engineering and maintenance organizations on issues such as
- Technical evaluation and identification of weapons and support equipment systems, engineering, requirements, and resources
- Weapons systems hardware and software standardization and compatibility
- Program management analysis
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- OR Completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments, ordnance, engineering technology
- OR completion of at least 30 semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum
- At least three (3) years of general or practical experience in aircraft, weapons systems, or aircraft support equipment with relevant experience in aircraft operating principles, theory, skills, and maintenance of aircraft, aircraft systems and equipment, or ground support equipment
- Experience in technical writing, including preparation of well-organized technical documents and reports that included significant analysis and discussion of the subject matter with pertinent conclusions and recommendations is applicable
Desired Qualifications:
- Former Department of Defense Aircraft technical / maintenance experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to use Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Defense Acquisition experience (DAWIA certification a plus)
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be qualified to obtain a Secret Clearance
