This Engineering Technical Expert (internally known as a Senior Design Engineering Specialist) position is a recognized leader and authority in Engine Installation and Cooling (EIC) for Earthmoving machine development, namely Medium Track-type Tractor, Medium Wheel Loader, Motor Graders, and Paving products. 

What You Will Do:

As a Tech Expert, the incumbent will provide the technical leadership to a multifunctional, worldwide CPPD (Concurrent Product and Process Development) team responsible for the development of a product and process to fulfill the duty of:

• Lead or serve as a primary contributor to Earthmoving’s EIC ICT (International CPPD Team) in the development and execution of value stream strategies, including MGPP (Multigenerational Product Plan).
• Facilitate or provide sourcing decisions in alignment with the category sourcing strategy.
• Drive technical synergy between Earthmoving and the enterprise with aftermarket and electrification.
• Conduct technical reviews for new product development and select Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) issues.
• Lead the knowledge sharing and promoting best practices, commonality, and simplification across Product Groups
• Serve as the technical advisor in CPIs and urgent issue resolutions.
• Manage access and updates to the technical information collection for Engine Installation and Cooling design guides and engineering standards.
• Lead or represent Earthmoving in technical community activities, such as COE meetings and special projects.
• Engage with Engine and Cooling partners on continuous improvement initiatives.

Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role may include any or all of the following: design and promote new products and processes; contribute to establishing strategies for new process and product programs; develop and manage the project/program to the plan; perform needs analysis and initiate ideas; evaluate new products and/or processes, perform product/process maintenance; keep up to date on new technologies or develop new technologies; communicate technology to customers, team members, suppliers and other units; support and advise other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers and suppliers, mentor, coach and develop others, represent the company externally.

What You Have (Basic Requirements):

• Degree Requirement : bachelor’s degree from an accredited engineering curriculum.

• Effective Communication: Must be able to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the workgroup, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers.  Willing and able to collaborate with international teams in various time zones.

• Analytical Thinking: Engine Installation and Cooling area experience with excellent analytical skills and an extensive understanding of complex engineering concepts and applications.

• Troubleshooting Technical Problems:  Significant challenges facing incumbents are keeping up to date with technology and demonstrating technical expertise in a specialty area.  This position must demonstrate the ability to develop and manage a complex project plan. Technical leadership skills are essential, and the incumbent must communicate effectively across the organization.

• Product Development Life Cycle – Manufacturing: Must have solid knowledge and experience in product development of engine cooling and installation, including design, validation (simulation and testing), manufacturing (including supply collaboration), and aftermarket support.

Top Candidates Will Also Bring (Desired Qualifications):

• Demonstrated leadership and achievement in EIC (Engine Installation and Cooling) design and CPPD.
• Strong understanding of our EIC supply base and the manufacturing process.
• Familiarity with Earthmoving products, namely Medium Track-type Tractor, Medium Wheel Loader, Motor Grader, and Paving products.
• Experience with process and knowledge from major initiatives in multiple product groups, preferably Earthmoving products.

• Location: Peoria, IL (Building AH)
• 10-15% domestic and international travel is expected.
• Domestic relocation will be available to those who qualify.
